Photos have always been frozen frames for me, slices of life stolen in motion. My first experience with the power of photography was with the countless visits to my grandparents as a child and looking through the photos captured through the raising of 12 children (yes 12!) What inspired me and continues to inspire me about these images, was the raw authenticity and unadulterated captures, they continue to feel fresh and bursting with all the joys and struggles of childhood and adolescence. To me, this is the essence of photography more than image quality and our perfectly corporate-looking selves, (don’t worry I care about that too!) it’s the people. People’s raw authentic emotions, feeling, and progress through life.
